Thoughts on Whitney Houston

For those of you familiar with Michael Newton's work, or my book "Flipside" you'll find this letter that Cissy Houston wrote to her daughter touches on some of the familiar points of this work.  It's always tragic for a mom or parent to bury a child - and in this case, her painful journey was very much in the public eye.  But as a form of solace, and perhaps friends like Oprah Winfrey or Rosie O'Donnell or even Ellen DeGeneres, might turn Cissy on to this research, if only to help her with her sorrow.  I'm going to first post Cissy Houston's letter, and then a eulogy that a father gave for his dead son, as reported in Carol Bowman's "Children's Past Lives."

"Dearest Whitney:

The presence of God blessed our home with life, love, joy and peace. You and your brothers were the center of divine love attracting God's richest blessings. You were a child of God. We had so much love in our home that was truly from on high.

You always gave without expecting anything in return and our love was the force that multiplied these blessings higher and higher. I never told you that when you were born the Holy Spirit told me that you would not be with me long and I thank God for the beautiful flower he allowed me to raise and cherish for 48 years.

God said it's time Nippy; your work is done. The other day on February 11th He came for you. But not without warning. For two months now I have been depressed, crying, lonesome and sad not knowing why.

On Saturday, before I found out about your transition, my doorbell rang. I went to answer it but there was no one there. It rang again and again, no one was there so I called the concierge to tell him someone was ringing my doorbell. He checked the cameras and told me that no one was there. You promised me you were coming to spend time with me after the Grammys. I believe the spirits allowed you to come after all.

How I love you Nippy and how I miss you, your beautiful smile, your special little things you used to say to me and sometimes you'd call just to say "hi Mommie, I love you so much," I loved you so much more.

I love you,
I'll miss you,

Thank you for being such a wonderful daughter.

Rest my baby girl in Peace, you're now in the arms of Jesus.

Love, Mommie"

Rage & Grief At Memorial Service, Schultz's Father Lashes Out At Accused Killer Du Pont: A Shout Of Grief, Rage Father Of Slain Wrestler Speaks Out At Penn Service

February 12, 1996|by Nicole Weisensee, Daily News Staff Writer

From the Philadelphia Daily News website Philly.com
(This is an article that reported Phillip Schultz's words spoken at his son's funeral.  His son, former Olympic Wrestler Dave Schultz had been hired by eccentric John Dupont, and had suddenly murdered the son, who was teaching him how to wrestle.  (Dupont died in prison serving his sentence).  The first part of the eulogy was the rage his father felt at Dupont's act but "not the man." This is an article quoting the eulogy that was recounted in Carol Bowman's book (cited below).
"Later in his eulogy, Schultz told how David at age 4 predicted he would die young.`
David told his dad that before he was born, he was one of 12 men standing around in a circle in the clouds. David was told by one of the men that he was going to be tested on earth.
`He said I would pass the test, but I wouldn't be here very long,'' David recounted to his dad.
``David was truly a transcendent figure,'' his father said softly."

Olympian Dave Schultz

This circle of men is frequently reported in Michael Newton's work as the "council of elders."  Phillip reportedly had never told anyone this story, and that his son asked his father if he could keep a secret.  As Carol Bowman reported in her book "Children's Past Lives" the son had said he'd spoken to his council, and they agreed he could come here to teach a lesson in love. But that he wouldn't be here very long.
Sometimes loved ones leave us for reasons that are hard to explain, hard to understand, but in the case of Cissy Houston, and in the case of Phillip Schultz, both were told that their children would not be with us very long.
