Flipside the Film

At long last....

It's almost here.  I've gotten back the first DVD of Flipside the documentary - it's 90 minutes long, and I had a couple of problems with the cover art.  So back it went to the manufacturer... and I'm waiting for the next proof to arrive.  I will post info here once it's up and running - and am exploring various ways to present it to the planet, in true DIY style.  Frankly, I'm a bit bored with the way things have shown up in bookstores, online, in distribution - since the topic is a new consciousness for the planet, perhaps a shift is in order for how that information gets to the planet.  Methinks.  So I will be exploring some various ways that folks can get the DVD, or live stream it through Amazon,  or perhaps some other fashion.  It will be located at FlipsideTheFilm.com - a site which I'm building as we speak.  Meanwhile, here's some clips:

Michael Newton in the 11 minute clip that gives some insight into Life between Life hypnotherapy.....

Paul Aurand and others in a shorter trailer for those with 5 minutes on their hands....

The whole magilla, if you can stand listening to me talk for 48 minutes about anything.....

Soon!  I promise!!!

Some follow up info to "Flipside"

I sent off the DVD of the "Flipside: My Journey to the Afterlife" to Createspace today - so in a few weeks I will be able to put up links where to find it.

In terms of the Whitney Houson post, perhaps you've seen the AP report from the interview with Oprah: The night after Whitney Houston died, her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown could not bring herself to sleep in her mother's Atlanta mansion.

That all changed the next morning.

"I woke up and I heard her say, 'All right, come home now,' " Brown told Oprah Winfrey in a TV special Sunday night. "And when I came back home, I felt humble, I felt okay."

The singer's only child, 19, says she's now comforted by the spirit of her mother, who died last month at age 48.

"I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, 'Keep talking to me. I got you,' " says Brown. "She's always with me. I can always feel her. I can always feel her with me. She always asked me,'Do you need me?' And I caught myself, out of nowhere, I didn't even know I said it, I said, 'I'll always need you.' "

I have continued to film Life between Life sessions here in Los Angeles.  Does that mean there will be another Flipside book?  Perhaps. Will let you know when I have enough footage for another book and another documentary.

Meanwhile, I get asked about contacting friends and loved ones from the spirit world.  I got a message today from a friend about one particular incident - and I'm repeating it here.

Wanted to share this email that I got from a friend of mine whose close friend (our mutual friend) died back when we were in college. This friend has been going through some stress over a job and the usual stuff we all go through, and she had this dream the other night, where our mutual friend came to speak to her. She sort of glossed it over in her email, as if it was just "wishful thinking" but something told me to tell her to write out word for word what she heard, and then to put it into caps so she could really pay attention to what this mutual friend was trying to tell her... as I think it's probably hard work to slip yourself into someone else's dream - 30 some years after they died - and I thought it might be important for her to really pay attention to. Here's the message - apologies for the CAPS but as you read it, you'll see why it's an IMPORTANT MESSAGE. (Just kidding)

The friend who passed away is writing in the first person, but the message about trees and flowers was interesting..

I AM SO HAPPY, BUT I MISS MY FRIENDS, AND FLOWERS, AND TREES. ENJOY THEM NOW. NOT BECAUSE THEY WILL BE GONE, BUT YOU WILL BE DIFFERENT. DON'T WORRY. IT IS JUST A GAME AND I WILL HELP PROTECT YOU. YOU NEED TO LISTEN WHEN YOUR EARS RING. I AM TALKING TO YOU TO TELL YOU SOMETHING INSIDE YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND. YOUR SMARTNESS ISN'T EVERYWHERE SO I NEED TO USE THE RINGING TO GET TO YOUR HEART FAST. DON'T BE SCARED. THERE ARE MANY ON YOUR SIDE WHO ARE ALSO WATCHING OUT FOR YOU. PRAY FOR OTHERS TOO. SOME NEED IT MUCH MORE THAN YOU. I AM FINE. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT. I GET CONFUSED AND WANT TO TALK TO YOU AND ... LOTS OF OTHERS WHO REMEMBER ME. WHO LOVED ME. I HAVE SENT THEM TO YOU, AND IT WAS HARD. DON'T WORRY. WE ARE WATCHING. YOU ARE LOVED. YOU GIVE LOVE. IT WILL ALL BE REWARDED BUT NOT IN THE WAY YOU THINK. KEEP LOVING. KEEP LAUGHING. IT IS WHAT I LOVED ABOUT YOU. NO, I CAN'T STAY NOW. I KNOW IT HURTS TO SAY GOOD BYE AGAIN. DON'T CRY. I AM HERE. I AM HERE. I AM HERE.

I hadn't thought about this friend for 30 years or so, and when I gave a talk about my book, this woman showed up with another friend who I went to college with, who also knew this mutual friend. She emailed me after the talk to let me know that she was still in touch with our mutual friend now and then, something she never told anyone, but after hearing about "Flipside" knew I would be open to hearing that - and I was happy to hear that - they were obviously very close friends. But it bears repeating - our loved ones are still with us - they can't hold our hand, can't touch a tree or hold a flower - but it's good advice for us all to hug a tree or touch a flower, as "they will be different." Wise words.

Thoughts on Whitney Houston

For those of you familiar with Michael Newton's work, or my book "Flipside" you'll find this letter that Cissy Houston wrote to her daughter touches on some of the familiar points of this work.  It's always tragic for a mom or parent to bury a child - and in this case, her painful journey was very much in the public eye.  But as a form of solace, and perhaps friends like Oprah Winfrey or Rosie O'Donnell or even Ellen DeGeneres, might turn Cissy on to this research, if only to help her with her sorrow.  I'm going to first post Cissy Houston's letter, and then a eulogy that a father gave for his dead son, as reported in Carol Bowman's "Children's Past Lives."

"Dearest Whitney:

The presence of God blessed our home with life, love, joy and peace. You and your brothers were the center of divine love attracting God's richest blessings. You were a child of God. We had so much love in our home that was truly from on high.

You always gave without expecting anything in return and our love was the force that multiplied these blessings higher and higher. I never told you that when you were born the Holy Spirit told me that you would not be with me long and I thank God for the beautiful flower he allowed me to raise and cherish for 48 years.

God said it's time Nippy; your work is done. The other day on February 11th He came for you. But not without warning. For two months now I have been depressed, crying, lonesome and sad not knowing why.

On Saturday, before I found out about your transition, my doorbell rang. I went to answer it but there was no one there. It rang again and again, no one was there so I called the concierge to tell him someone was ringing my doorbell. He checked the cameras and told me that no one was there. You promised me you were coming to spend time with me after the Grammys. I believe the spirits allowed you to come after all.

How I love you Nippy and how I miss you, your beautiful smile, your special little things you used to say to me and sometimes you'd call just to say "hi Mommie, I love you so much," I loved you so much more.

I love you,
I'll miss you,

Thank you for being such a wonderful daughter.

Rest my baby girl in Peace, you're now in the arms of Jesus.

Love, Mommie"

Rage & Grief At Memorial Service, Schultz's Father Lashes Out At Accused Killer Du Pont: A Shout Of Grief, Rage Father Of Slain Wrestler Speaks Out At Penn Service

February 12, 1996|by Nicole Weisensee, Daily News Staff Writer

From the Philadelphia Daily News website Philly.com
(This is an article that reported Phillip Schultz's words spoken at his son's funeral.  His son, former Olympic Wrestler Dave Schultz had been hired by eccentric John Dupont, and had suddenly murdered the son, who was teaching him how to wrestle.  (Dupont died in prison serving his sentence).  The first part of the eulogy was the rage his father felt at Dupont's act but "not the man." This is an article quoting the eulogy that was recounted in Carol Bowman's book (cited below).
"Later in his eulogy, Schultz told how David at age 4 predicted he would die young.`
David told his dad that before he was born, he was one of 12 men standing around in a circle in the clouds. David was told by one of the men that he was going to be tested on earth.
`He said I would pass the test, but I wouldn't be here very long,'' David recounted to his dad.
``David was truly a transcendent figure,'' his father said softly."

Olympian Dave Schultz

This circle of men is frequently reported in Michael Newton's work as the "council of elders."  Phillip reportedly had never told anyone this story, and that his son asked his father if he could keep a secret.  As Carol Bowman reported in her book "Children's Past Lives" the son had said he'd spoken to his council, and they agreed he could come here to teach a lesson in love. But that he wouldn't be here very long.
Sometimes loved ones leave us for reasons that are hard to explain, hard to understand, but in the case of Cissy Houston, and in the case of Phillip Schultz, both were told that their children would not be with us very long.

New Trailer for "Flipside" - apologies for the faux Phillip Glass score (he's got a piece in the finished film) but it's something I composed and played on my mom's piano while I was home.

I know it promises the DVD and a streaming video - just waiting for Amazon.com to start streaming and creating DVD's for me.  Should be any day now.  (If not, I will post more info asap) Thanks for viewing.

Flipside Reviews...

Thanks to all who've posted reviews at Amazon and Barnes & Noble

5.0 out of 5 stars A VERY WELCOMED PERSONAL ACCOUNT, October 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: FlipSide: A Tourist's Guide on How to Navigate the Afterlife (Paperback)
I knew as soon as I read the opening quote from Jagger/Richards
I was going to enjoy this book on many levels. I have repeated
those lines to myself many times over the years as a kind of
personal mantra. I am also an avid follower of Michael Newton's
work and have read all of his books. As someone trying to summon
up the courage to do an LBL regression for some time, I welcomed
this most personal account of Richard Martini's journey in finding
answers to his own life's purpose. While Newton's books provided
groundbreaking research in enlightening us about our Life Between
Lives, this book provided a more thorough context. Here we see
what led the author to not only Newton's work, but chronicles
his own LBL session with more continuity than any of the LBL
sessions that we read about. But this is only part of the rich
narrative of Martini's life. I loved the humor and the promise
of more (this is Vol. 1). I am also looking forward to the
promised documentary.

Rich Martini takes us along on his own quest for self discovery. Along the way he regales
us with many (sometimes hilarious) anecdotes on the part that sychronicity played in his
discovery. Chapter upon chapter we are given the very real and descriptive expirience of
LBL (life between lives) sessions as told by the facilitators and the persons undergoing
the journey, his own sessions included. He brings to life the same things spoken of in
Michael Newtons books about this subject. It is not a 'scientific' book of dry
facts/figures/names/dates. It is ALIVE with the most fabulous energy of his own
sense of wonder and joy.. taking us along on the ride of his life. I couldn't put it
down! I just loved this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you for this book!, August 20, 2011
Wow..this book came into my life just as I was finishing the fourth book associated with
Michael Newton and I was agonizing over not having anything more to read - I was
voracious in my need to read read read about Past Life Regressions, Life Between Life
Regressions and all things of this nature. Rich's book is the PERFECT book to read after
reading the Newton books..it's sort of a continuation or addendum to all of Michael's
books and also from a slightly different point of view. Reading interviews with some
of the therapists is so good for me as I approach the time of my own LBL which I am
so excited about.

I'm only through about 5 chapters so far and I felt compelled to write this review.
I will add to it as I go further in the book. I love Rich's writing style - sort of a
combination of journalist and author - documenter and participator.

Flipside flipped my mind!!, July 29, 2011
Anyone on a spiritual quest to heal themselves and find out why they may be having
recurring issues in this life MUST read this book!! It came to me at the most synchronistic
time and I couldn't put it down. Rich is a wonderful writer who brings sensitivity, insight
and depth to this subject. It really got me thinking in new ways and I'm going to schedule
a LBL session as soon as possible. I cannot recommend this book highly enough! Anyone
seeking answers and not finding it in traditional therapy or self help methods should
consider this a true gift from beyond. Thank you, Rich, for sharing this important
information and bringing it to light. TRULY AMAZING!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't leave life without reading this., July 17, 2011
By
Haps "Haps" (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
Finished the book this morning and absolutely loved it. Definitely spoke to me.
I typically don't read books like this and mostly shy away from the metaphysical stuff
(even tough I lived in Sedona). It's mostly due to ignorance, fear and to try to sweep
spiritual experiences I've had under the rug. Not to mention, I'm not a reader.
This book spoke to me, validated me.... and truly life changing.

Thank you for sharing your experiences in this book. Be open. Today may be the day
your meant to read this.

Honestly, when I wrote THE BOYFRIEND TEST, I forgot to think about what role our
perspective mates had in our past lives. Rich's thought=provoking book shows me that
what a boyfriend candidate does on a first date might be less important than what
he did to us in the middle ages. Who knows? - Dr. Wendy Walsh

5.0 out of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK!, March 18, 2011

Martini's book is deeply thought provoking, poignant and at moments simply profound.
He brings the gift of a great story teller to the table and oh what a story he tells!

Like him, I'm a skeptic. But he does a better job, than any book that I've ever read,
on bringing "structure" and clarity of thought to what happens next. To the extent
there's science around what happens to us when we die, Martini tries to capture it.
At a minimum, he's able to communicate common threads that'll force even the most
jaded among us to ponder - what if.

Disclaimer: Everything below is just MHO.

First
Thank you Rich for this wonderful personal account of LBL!

Another reviewer (afterlifer) recommended Michael Newton's books over yours.
So I bought his "Memories of the Afterlife", as well. I just finished your book and
have started his.

Reincarnation
Personally, I don't believe in reincarnation as popularly presented. Flipside and LBL
more closely touch upon my beliefs and the Seven trilogy. That said, those who do
believe should find Flipside a rewarding experience.

The concepts of "lateral time and multiverses", although only hinted in your book,
broaden my perspective of incarnation and LBL.

LBL
"LBL", or "Life Between Lives", is too limited as your book shows repeatedly. More
precise would be "LWL", or "Lives Within Life". As you show, with yourself and others,
we exist (live) continuously outside and inside our incarnations.

Personal Stories
I have a scientific and spiritual background. Thus, like a lot of us, I go between
rigorous skeptic and devotee. Your early presentation of Michael Newton's 7000
case studies really satisfied my scientific skeptic, and paved the way for fully
enjoying the stories of your adventures, and the stories of others you shared.

Unconditional Love
Perhaps the most poignant component of Flipside is the role of compassion and
unconditional love. Over and over you demonstrate the fundamental nature of these
within our Lives. The stories repeatedly demonstrate the dynamics of them, and how
they obviate any fundamental need for forgiveness. Like, we don't need to forgive
the sun for being hot or the scorpion for being a scorpion.

Required Reading
I chose to read your book, Flipside, before reading Michael's "Memories of the Afterlife".
I just started reading Michael's book and the reason why I chose yours first became obvious.
In Michael's introduction he writes in a more formal style. I wanted the informal
personal interaction first before the formal, and your personal adventures provided that for me.

Were I presenting a course on LWL, Flipside would be the first book on the reading list.
The rest of the list would derive from your Recommendations in the back.
I will be recommending Flipside to friends and relatives. Tops my Xmas gift list.

Thanks Again
You have provided humanity with a marvelous opportunity for self-awareness with Flipside.
Thank you with all my heart and soul.

Al
